How do I check a coin?
Tap Check a coin, then Take a photo (or choose one). Fill the frame with the coin, lay it flat in good light, and avoid glare. Adding the back often makes the answer more certain. The first time, you will be asked to confirm you are 18 or over.
How accurate is it?
It is right most of the time on clear photos of common coins, and it says how sure it is: Confident, Fairly sure or Not sure. Worn, blurry or dark photos, and rare varieties, are harder. Look at the other possibilities it lists and the "Check next" tips. It can be wrong: please verify anything valuable with a dealer or grading service.
What is "metal value"?
The value of the pure silver, gold, platinum or palladium in the coin at today's metal price: weight × purity × price per troy ounce. The sum is shown on the result. You can correct the weight or purity and it updates. It is not what a dealer pays, and it is not a collector value.
Why is there a collector value range?
It is a rough guide for a typical worn example. It is always labelled an estimate. Condition, date and demand change real prices a lot.
What do I get free?
Your first 5 coin checks. The metal value calculator, the "Is it silver?" guide and your collection are free to use, offline.
How do I get more checks?
Tap No checks left or Settings → Coin checks to buy a small pack (shared COSMO credits), or choose CoinLoupe Pro: 60 checks every month and all ads removed. A check that fails is not charged.
How do I cancel Pro?
Google Play → profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → CoinLoupe Pro → Cancel. Or tap "Manage in Google Play" on the Pro screen. You keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for.
I bought something and do not see it
Settings → Restore purchases. Make sure you are signed in to the same Google account in Google Play. If it still does not appear, email us with your order number.
How do I move my checks to a new phone?
Settings → Back up my checks (when shown) attaches an opaque Google identifier to your balance so it follows you. Purchases themselves are tied to your Google account.
Where is my collection stored?
Only on your phone. Uninstalling the app deletes it. Use the share button in My collection to save a spreadsheet first.
How do I delete my data?
Your collection and settings: uninstall the app or clear its storage. Your COSMO account (checks balance and stored results): Settings → Delete COSMO account, or https://cosmovexapps.com/account-deletion .
A result was wrong or offensive
Tap Report a problem with this result on the result screen. It opens an email with the result attached so we can look at it.
Metal prices look old
Prices come from gold-api.com and are refreshed when you open a screen that shows a metal value, at most every 30 minutes. If your phone is offline the last known prices are used and the app says the price is approximate.
