Alarm Drill Privacy Policy
Effective date: 2026-10-11
App: Alarm Drill: Alarm Clock Missions (Android, package com.cosmovex.wakerow)
Developer: Cosmovex. Contact: trionapps@gmail.com
Alarm Drill is an alarm clock. It works without an account, and almost everything it does happens on your phone. This policy explains what stays on your phone, what leaves it, and why.
1. What stays on your phone
- Alarms and settings. Times, repeat days, labels, sounds, volume, missions, snooze and wake-up check settings, your city, units, and language.
- Mission data. Your answers and progress during a mission are used to stop the alarm and are not sent anywhere. If you use the barcode mission, the barcode value you register (for example the code on a toothpaste tube) is stored on your phone.
- Reps log. How many push-ups, squats, jumping jacks, plank seconds or dance moves each alarm made you do, by day, for the totals on the morning card.
- Ring log and morning log. When each alarm was scheduled, started and dismissed, how many seconds it took you to get up, snoozes, and whether you were on time. This drives the morning card and the reliability panel.
- Purchases. A record of which products you own (Remove ads, Alarm Drill Plus by subscription or lifetime), checked against Google Play on each start, and, if you start a free trial, its start date so the app can remind you before it ends.
We do not have a server that stores this data and we cannot see it. Uninstalling Alarm Drill, or clearing its storage in Android settings, deletes it.
Backup / Export (Plus). If you choose to export, Alarm Drill writes your alarms and settings to a file at a location you pick with the Android file picker. That file is yours; Alarm Drill does not upload it.
2. Permissions and what they are used for
| Permission | Used for | Leaves the phone? |
|---|---|---|
| Alarms and reminders / exact alarms | Ringing at the exact time you set | No |
| Notifications | The ringing notification, the wake-up check and the backup ring | No |
| Full-screen alarm screen, foreground service, wake lock, vibration, run at startup | Showing the alarm over the lock screen and re-arming alarms after a restart or time change | No |
| Camera (only for the barcode mission, or missions with Camera check turned on) | Reading a barcode, or counting push-ups, squats, plank, jumping jacks and dance moves from your body position. Every frame is analysed on your phone by an on-device model, then discarded. Images and video are never stored or sent | No |
| Motion, proximity and light sensors (no permission needed) | Counting steps, shakes, squats and dance moves; push-ups and plank over the phone; how bright the room is for "Let the light in" | No |
| Calendar, read-only (only if you turn on "Show my first event") | Showing your first event of the day on the morning card | No |
Alarm Drill never asks for your contacts, call log, phone state, accounts, or location.
Microphone. This version of Alarm Drill does not use the microphone. If a later version adds an optional night recorder, it will ask first, recordings will stay on your phone and will never be uploaded, and you should know that a recording can capture other people in the room. This policy will be updated before such a feature ships.
3. What leaves your phone, and why
Weather (MET Norway)
If you pick a city for the morning card, Alarm Drill asks the Norwegian Meteorological Institute (api.met.no) for that day's forecast. The request contains only the chosen city's latitude and longitude (rounded, from a built-in city list) and an identifying app name that MET Norway requires. Your IP address is visible to their servers, as with any internet request. Alarm Drill never uses GPS or your location. Forecasts are cached on your phone for 3 hours. MET Norway privacy: https://www.met.no/en/About-us/privacy
Ads (Google AdMob) and consent (Google UMP consent message)
Alarm Drill is free and shows ads, at most on the morning card after an alarm has been dismissed, and never while an alarm rings. Google AdMob may collect device information, the advertising ID, IP address, and ad interaction data to show, measure and limit ads, and (where you consent or where the law allows) to personalise them. In regions that require it (such as the EEA, the UK and Switzerland), Alarm Drill uses Google's consent message to ask for your choices; you can change them at any time in Settings → Ad Privacy Choices. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in Android settings. If you buy Remove ads or Alarm Drill Plus, Alarm Drill makes no ad requests at all. Google's policy: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
App analytics and crash reports (Google Firebase)
Alarm Drill uses Firebase Analytics to count how features are used (for example "alarm saved", "mission passed", "morning card shown") so we can fix what does not work, Firebase Crashlytics to receive crash reports (the code location of the crash, device model, Android version, and app state), and Firebase Remote Config to adjust settings such as the daily ad limit without an app update. These services use an app-instance identifier and device information. Analytics events do not contain your alarm labels, typed text, barcode values, calendar events or city name. Firebase privacy: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
Install and app-activation measurement (Meta)
On Android, Alarm Drill uses Meta App Events to measure app installs and app activations and understand the results of our app advertising. Meta receives an app-scoped identifier, app and device information, install attribution information when available, and your IP address as part of the network request. We disable advertising-ID collection and automatic purchase and codeless event logging in the Meta SDK. We do not send alarm labels, mission text, barcode values, camera frames, calendar events or city names to Meta. This measurement is separate from whether you have purchased an ad-free entitlement. Meta privacy: https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy/
Cosmovex app suggestions (cosmovex.web.app)
When Alarm Drill starts, it downloads a short list of other Cosmovex apps it may suggest (https://cosmovex.web.app/api/house_promo.json and https://cosmovex.web.app/api/cross_promo.json). The request sends no personal data — no identifier, no alarm, city or usage information. As with any internet request, the server (Google Firebase Hosting) sees your IP address. The list is cached on your phone and used for the full-screen app suggestion (never shown if you buy Remove ads or Alarm Drill Plus) and the "More apps" list in Settings.
Purchases (Google Play)
Purchases are handled by Google Play. We receive a purchase confirmation and token from Google Play; we do not receive your payment card details.
Links you open
Opening a link (privacy policy, support, another Cosmovex app on Google Play) opens your browser or Google Play, which have their own policies.
4. Children
Alarm Drill is not designed for children and is intended for users aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
5. Your choices and rights
- Change ad consent at any time: Settings → Ad Privacy Choices.
- Remove all ads and ad requests: buy Remove ads or Alarm Drill Plus.
- Cancel a Plus subscription at any time in Google Play.
- Turn off the calendar row or the weather city at any time in Settings.
- Delete everything on your phone: uninstall the app or clear its storage.
- For any request about data held by Google services on our behalf (analytics, crash reports), email trionapps@gmail.com and we will help, within the limits of what those services let us identify and delete.
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or Californian law) you may have rights to access, correct, delete or object to processing of your personal data. Contact us at the address below to exercise them.
6. Security and retention
Data on your phone is protected by Android's app sandbox. Alarm schedules needed to ring before you first unlock your phone after a restart are kept in Android's device-protected storage for that purpose only. Analytics and crash data are kept by Google for the retention period set in our Firebase and Google Analytics settings (at most 14 months for analytics events) and then deleted.
7. Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date above. Significant changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
